People have chance of developing mesothelioma when they inhaled asbestos particles, or  exposed to asbestos fiber or dust. also Washing clothes of family member who came from  asbestos working place can also lead to a person to mesothelioma.
Note that there is no link between smoking and mesothelioma. Compensation through asbestos lawsuits or funds is an key and prominent topic in mesothelioma
The mesothelioma symptoms :
-shortness of breath due to pleural effusion
-chest wall pain
-weight loss.
The diagnosis is done with chest  CT scan and X ray, and confirmed by a microscopic examination and biopsy.
For taking biopsies thoracoscopy can be used . It permits the introduction of the substances like as talc to obliterate  pleural space (also called pleurodesis), which also prevents more fluid from pressing and accumulating  on lung.
Apart from treatment with chemotherapy, surgery or sometimes radiation therapy, disease sill carries a very poor prognosis.
Research regarding  the  screening tests for early identification and detection of mesothelioma is still ongoing.
